 I just wanted to tell you how extremely pleased Deb and I are on the stamped concrete patio that Patterned Concrete poured for us last month. It was exactly the right color and the finish is awesome. Watching your workers with every task required gave me a greater appreciation for the amount of work that you put into your finished product. Jr even pointed out a couple of items that I had overlooked in order to make sure the final look was perfect.

 There is no other decorative concrete contractor in Central Texas that I would ever use or recommend other than Patterned Concrete of Austin. We have already spent several “cool” evenings on the patio and can’t wait till it warms up and we can use it everyday.

I recently used PCA to build a large patterned patio and some walkways in my backyard. At the initial meeting, Gene carefully explained the specific steps of the process and answered all of my questions about timing, options, etc. He even had a few very thoughtful suggestions to improve my design while keeping costs in line with my budget. The contract was clear and fairly granular, with prices associated with the different parts of the process and for the specific dimensions of my project. Having worked with a fair number of contractors over the past two years, that was a pleasant change.

The crew was extremely efficient and courteous and the cleanup at the end of the job was more than adequate. My wife and I are very happy with the final product, both in terms of the aesthetics as well as the value we received for our investment. Highly recommended.

 We had a house with a deck that had not been resealed in 15 years and looked terrible and had almost zero color left on it. Gene, the owner, went totally out of his way both on the phone and by making many, many phone calls to others in the industry to determine the very best way to restore the concrete deck and to also get the color just right! The very most difficult part was getting the color correct and he did a fabulous job there. He also went above and beyond from a timing standpoint to get the job done in a short period of time to accomodate us when he was booked solid with business.

The end result was exactly and precisely what we wanted and we could not be more thrilled with the beautiful restoration they did for us. I could not recommend him more highly in every way from professionalism, to pricing, to communication and effort!

I can’t tell you how EXTREMELY pleased we are with out new huge patio.  It’s absolutely gorgeous, beyond what we expected.  You were dead right on the colors you suggested and the pattern is perfect for our very natural backyard.  Junior and his crew worked so efficiently and professionally, they are truly artists.  Thank you so, so much for a wonderful experience.

My wife and I are overjoyed at the look of our new concrete patio.  As you may recall, we just bought this house in June, and it had a 12-year-old wooden deck which was rotting out.  We originally thought about replacing it with another wooden deck, or perhaps an artificial wood deck.  My wife preferred a stone patio or “pavers”.  Then we heard about patterned Concrete.  It had the look of stone, but the durability of a concrete patio.  After looking at the portfolio, we chose “frio river” pattern.  The finished product exceeded our expectations.  It has a beautiful hill country look, the irregular shape is unique, yet attractive, we can’t wait to put in landscaping which compliments the new patio. 

Thanks again for such a great job.  We’ll be spending lots of time outdoors this fall enjoying the new patio.

It all started with a dream of replacing and extending the area of our fifteen year old wooden deck on our house.  Hobbs Inc of Austin completed the design and drawings of the patio and garden.  Patterned Concrete of Austin was the primary contractor, who did a terrific job of constructing a built-up concrete patio with an embedded garden area.  The shape of the top of the new patio is the union of a trapezoid, a 21ft diameter semi-circle, and a two topping over an existing covered porch, all integrated into one 42ft long patio, raised 21” off the ground.

The first step required clearing and building forms around the edges of the patio.  We hired local electrical and plumbing contractors who implanted electrical outlets and water faucets into the forms.  Several dump truck loads of fill material were transported from the front of the house around to the patio area.  This fill material was bag-bordered and raised to the level of the concrete top.  New seamless guttering and down spouts that drained under the patio were manufactured and installed during the forming process. 

On the day the concrete trucks came, Patterned Concrete of Austin had arranged for a concrete pump to be set up to carry the concrete from the street to the patio area.  The finishing crew had to work fast to get the designs and colors imprinted on the quick drying surface.  They used two colors and a stamp design called York stone slate.  The surface was poured, stamped and colored all in one long day.  The caring and hard working concrete crew kept the job site clean at the end of every work day.

After the concrete cured completely, they returned to remove the forms, power wash the surface, grind down any rough edges, skirted the exposed sides and stamped a 75 linear foot border around the periphery of the patio and around the inside of the garden.  Finally, the crew applied two coats of sealant and a non-skid additive finish that is fantastic.

Having only considered natural stone for the patio and front entry, we were sold on the multiple patterns and colors available in patterned concrete. The durability of the patterned concrete was also important in our decision as stone pathways have cracked and broken in the past.
